First aid and CPR are good skills for anyone involved in adventure sports – just in case.
It is a requirement for the Padi Rescue course and all higher ratings.
Emergency First Response is a PADI affiliate that specializes in teaching these lifesaving skills – and they’re for anyone, not just divers.
Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors!

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course Details

Move up and experience real adventure with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.
As you step beyond the PADI Open Water Diver level, you make five dives and have the opportunity to try some of diving’s most rewarding and useful specialty activities, such as deep diving, digital underwater photography, underwater navigation and much more.
These skills make diving much more than underwater sightseeing. Plus, the Advanced Open Water Diver course takes you one step closer to Master Scuba Diver – the ultimate non professional certification in recreational diving.
With your PADI Instructor you complete the deep and underwater navigation Adventure Dives.
These dives boost your confidence as you build these foundational skills.
Then, you choose three additional Adventure dives to complete your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.

Dive site

Our dive center is located right by the sea, offering direct access to a local dive site with clear, crystal waters and excellent visibility. The maximum depth ranges between 17 and 18 meters. The site is rich in diverse marine life, including octopuses, rockfish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, schools of bream, triggerfish, stingrays, lionfish, and much more.
Shore diving is an affordable and flexible way to explore the underwater world, without the need for boat logistics.
It’s ideal for any time of the day, and our site is perfect for all levels of divers—whether you are training, refreshing your skills, or are an advanced diver.
The dive begins with a slow, easy entry from the beach to a sandy plateau between 0–5 meters, offering calm, pool-like conditions.
This is an ideal spot to practice breathing, swimming, and buoyancy, especially for novices or those who haven't dived in a while.
A short swim from this plateau, you’ll find a gentle slope leading down to a second plateau at 12–17 meters.
Here, you can find replicas of Greek statues on the seabed, a unique and scenic spot for underwater photography.
The seafloor is a mix of sand, rock, seagrass, and Posidonia oceanica fields, supporting an unexpectedly rich variety of marine life for a shore dive.
Marine Life in Kos
Typical marine life you might encounter includes octopuses, rockfish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, schools of bream, triggerfish, stingrays, lionfish, and more. Occasionally, you might spot amberjacks, small tunas, or Mediterranean barracudas hunting in the blue. Some species are unique to our waters, while others are Lessepsian immigrants from the Red Sea.

Course Duration: 2 Days

The referral portion of the Open Water Diver course involves four open water dives, typically conducted over two consecutive days. Each day includes two dives at stunning local dive sites, guided by our experienced PADI instructors.

Pool Refresher Recommended

If it's been a while since your last confined water (pool) session, we highly recommend a pool skills review before starting your open water dives.

• A refresher helps you feel confident and prepared
•  It ensures you can complete the course in four dives, without needing extra (chargeable) sessions
• Note: The pool refresher is optional and not included in the course price

Important: Bring Your Referral Paperwork

To complete your certification, please make sure to bring your PADI referral form, signed and dated by your previous instructor. The paperwork must be less than 12 months old at the time of completion.

Why PADI Scuba Diver?

Short on time and long on the urge to become a certified diver? The PADI Scuba Diver certification might just be for you. This course requires less time than the PADI Open Water Diver course, covering only the first three of five sections of knowledge development, the first three of five pool sessions, and the first two of four open water training dives, resulting in a limited certification. Particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily in the company of a dive guide or if you have limited time to devote to scuba certification, consider becoming a PADI Scuba Diver.
This certification allows for ample dive experience and is a good warm-up for the Open Water Diver course, if that’s your ultimate goal. PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 metres / 40 feet.
Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in other diving activities as long as they have the required supervision.
Complete your Open Water Diver whenever you want! Take your Scuba Diver certification to Open Water Diver with a few additional dives and knowledge development, and make the jump to Open Water Diver certification. You can start scuba diving independently whenever time allows or you’re up for more!

Bubblemaker course (pool dive only)

The PADI Bubblemaker program is designed for boys and girls aged 8 and older. It’s fun, easy, and safe! The PADI Bubblemaker is a great way for youngsters to join in on family scuba diving adventures or even start a trend of their own. While children should feel comfortable in the water, they don’t need to be expert swimmers, as the maximum depth is only 2 meters.
