In the Aegean there are no coral reefs but there are many species of sea bream, sea bass, Flounder and scorpion fish these are seen on a daily basis. For the macro enthusiast nudibranches, shrimps and hermit crabs are also common. Schools of Barracuda and Jacks are occasionally seen and if you’re very lucky rays, turtles and sea horses can be spotted.
Typical marine life you might encounter includes octopuses, rockfish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, schools of bream, triggerfish, stingrays, lionfish, and more. Occasionally, you might spot amberjacks, small tunas, or Mediterranean barracudas hunting in the blue. Some species are unique to our waters, while others are Lessepsian immigrants from the Red Sea.
